Andrew Bjerring worked for eighteen years in academic and administrative positions at the University of Western Ontario and was a founding member of the Board of CANARIE Inc. in 1993. He served as President and CEO at CANARIE until his retirement in October 2008. Since then, he has remained involved in research management and governance, as Chair of the Board of Directors of CRDCN, Ocean Networks Canada and Council of Canadian Academies expert panel on timely access to health data.

Pendant dix-huit ans, Andrew Bjerring a occupé des postes académiques et administratifs à l’Université de Western Ontario. Il a été l’un des membres fondateurs du conseil d’administration de CANARIE Inc. en 1993. Il a été président et chef de la direction de CANARIE jusqu’à sa retraite en octobre 2008. Depuis, il est resté impliqué dans la gestion et la gouvernance de recherche, en tant que président du conseil d’administration du RCCDR, d’Ocean Networks Canada et du groupe d’experts du Conseil des académies canadiennes sur l’accès ponctuel aux données relatives à la santé.
